Spinal Adjustments

Spinal adjustments can be best explained as adjustments by a chiropractor to help alleviate pressures on the spinal cord which offers improvement of health. Many people find back pain relief through spinal adjustments. Chiropractors manipulate or adjust the vertebrae when it is misaligned (the vertebrae are the bones of your spinal column) to help restore and correct the functioning of your central nerve system. Chiropractors may also assist with treating other parts of your body which are affected by the vertebrae being misaligned. They may perform these techniques with use of their hands and a variety of electrical and/or mechanical instruments. "D.C." stands for "Doctor of Chiropractic," the degree licensed chiropractors must earn.

Spinal Adjustments might be considered with following issues:

  • To help with better health
  • Sports injuries
  • Heavy Lifting injuries
  • Slip and Fall
  • General bad back
  • Work injuries
  • Repetitive tasks
  • Auto Accidents

Spinal Adjustment issues include:

Spinal adjustment/manipulation – A specific thrust applied to a subluxated vertebra utilizing parts of the vertebra and contiguous structures as levers to directionally correct that particular articular malposition, and thus influencing neural integrity in that area.

Subluxation – A complex of functional and/or structural changes that occur in the spinal column that comprises neural integrity and thus may influence organ system function and general health.
